Volunteers and perspiration

Hugh Braga (pictured), a faithful Crusader supporter, saw that the superb location of the land offered by Dr Parr at Lake Macquarie offered unequalled opportunities for kingdom ministry. He sprang into action, gathering a vibrant group of volunteers whom he led in working parties and Bible studies for several years. He even took annual leave from work before and after each weekend working party to erect and pull down tents for the team to stay in.

Together Hugh and these faithful volunteers built the first permanent structures at Lake Mac. They succeeded in transforming the vacant land into a campsite at which eternal truths have been proclaimed for generations.
