To serve the larger camper population and to provide active opportunities for fun, a multi-purpose sports hall will be built. It will provide a large space for indoor recreation, making the site less vulnerable to the seasonal fluctuations, which currently affect Lake Mac bookings. It will incorporate a full-size indoor basketball/netball/volleyball court, two indoor climbing walls, and provide a large band camp rehearsal space. An archery range, abseiling and rock climbing tower, low ropes course, high ropes course, initiatives course, netball and basketball courts, table tennis tables, giant chess board and 25m swimming pool will provide campers with plenty of fun, team-building activities where they can develop new skills, strengthen relationships and overcome limitations.
The current boatshed is badly rusted and must be demolished. It will be replaced by a new two-storey boatshed. The ground floor will house all the sailing, canoeing, kayaking and fishing equipment, with a large meeting space on the top floor. An outdoor chapel and fire pit will seat 120 people, with picturesque Lake Macquarie as the backdrop.
Additional land has been purchased adjacent to the main site. This will be used as a bivouac area sleeping 120 campers in tents, with environmentally friendly toileting facilities nearby. A mountain bike track, high ropes course, orienteering/rogaining course and areas for environmental studies will also feature here.
